Since 1994, Hawkins has been manufacturing food ingredients
and products for the electronic industry. In 1995 Hawkins
was granted a patent for a liquid sodium phosphate system
used in the production of process cheese. As the business
grew, new capacity was needed. In late 1997 Hawkins
finished construction of a 44,000 square foot facility
to meet expanding business. In 2005, an additional 17,000
square feet of warehouse space was added to meet our
ever-growing demand. As of 2007 our mix tank capacity
now exceeds 60,000 gallons. The majority of our manufacturing
consists of performing acid base reactions to produce
liquid salts. Solubilizing and blending also play a
large part in our sales efforts. Now you can rely on
one of the leading ingredient manufacturers to deliver
the products you want in the quantities you need.
Hawkins Acquires TRUMARK
A Combination That Works For You
In May 2007, Hawkins, Inc. acquired the expertise
of TRUMARK, Inc., a well-respected manufacturer of lactate
salts used as listeria inhibitors in the meat industry.
TRUMARK is now a division of Hawkins, Inc.
TRUMARK is well known in the industry for combining
high quality customized lactates with exceptional technical
service to create innovative products with broader flavor
profiles.
Their manufacturing plant in New Jersey gives Hawkins
multiple manufacturing locations for lactate products.
That means more capacity to deliver even more high-quality
lactate products for you.
We readily welcome the technical expertise of Stephen
G. Campano, current President of The American Meat Science
Association. Stephen is a specialist in the field of
meat processing and formulation. Through his career,
Stephen has visited and consulted with processed meat
companies in more than 30 countries.

Ultralac
Ultralac products are liquid lactate salts used as antimicrobial
agents for Ready to Eat meat and poultry products.
Lactate salts can appreciably enhance
the safety of RTE meats by inhibiting or delaying the
growth of listeria monocytogenes and other pathogens.
The FSIS, USDA has recently mandated establishments
that produce RTE meats and poultry products prevent
product adulteration by this pathogen no later than
October 6th, 2003.
Ultralac products are made using a unique
process that eliminates the harsh and bitter aftertaste
other products can exhibit.
